CLASSROOM RULES & EXPECTATIONS
Our Class Rules
1. Listen to others.
2. Follow directions quickly.
3. Raise your hand to speak.
4. Be safe, be kind, be honest.
5. Respect others, respect yourself, respect your school.
We spent time talking about respect the first week. I feel that respect is a very important part of school (and life). Students must learn to show respect at all times. We discussed and made charts to show what respect looks like and sounds like so the students are very familiar with this word.
Behavior
I believe that positive behavior is very important to our classroom environment and each individual child’s academic success. I treat my students like family. We care about each other. We work and play together many hours each day, helping each other. As part of our school's PBIS program, students will earn Class Dojo points all day in the classroom, around the school and in specials classes for demonstrating appropriate behavior. These points can earn trips to the Eagle's Nest Store, lunch in the classroom with the teacher, Specials teachers, and other fun rewards.
Refocus Forms:
Students are accountable for their own actions. The refocus form helps them identify and reflect on the inappropriate behavior that they were displaying, what actions/choices they should be doing instead and ways to make a better choice next time. After students fill out the form they need to take it home and get it signed by a parent.
