Meet Mrs. DePollo...
I love kids and love to teach! I have been an educator for over 27 years. I have been teaching at DRES for the last 16 years. Before coming to live in North Carolina, I taught in Florida, Texas and Michigan. I have been a classroom teacher, reading and math intervention teacher, Title 1 intervention teacher and Title 1 K-5 math instructional coach.
I grew up in Boynton Beach, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with my bachelor's degree in elementary education and my master's degree in elementary education with a specialization in reading. So naturally I am a huge University of Florida fan! Go Gators!
I love my family. I have been married for 28 years to my wonderful husband. I have two fabulous children; a 24 year old son and a 22 year old daughter. They both attended Durant Elementary and Durant Middle School. My son is a student at UNCW. My daughter attends UNC Chapel Hill. The furry members of my family include a really sweet, yellow lab, named Luna, and a cuddly, calico cat, named Ally.
Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with my family, kayaking, gardening, reading a good book, going to Zumba class at the Y, riding my bike, taking long walks with my dog, walking on the beach, enjoying a really good meal and drinking my morning coffee outside on my deck!
Mrs. DePollo's daughter when she was a little girl with her kitty, Ally. Ally is 7 years old and a very sweet, friendly cat! Ally is very talkative. She meows all the time telling to us to feed and pet her.
Here is a picture of Mrs. DePollo with her brother and sister when she was one year old. She is the curly haired little one in the middle. She is at her aunt and uncle's cottage at a lake in Florida. One of Mrs. DePollo's favorite childhood memories is going to visit her family at the lake in the summer to swim and play with her brother and sister.
Here is a photo of Mrs. DePollo at age 4. She has always loved horses.
